The Care Aware Advocacy Service provides a 'one stop' facility to answer all of your care questions.
The Advocacy Service will provide information, advice and guidance on:
- Understanding Social Services assessment procedures.
- Sourcing appropriate home care services and support.
- Finding and selecting a suitable care home.
- Establishing entitlement to state benefits including Attendance Allowance, Pension Credit, Continuing Care benefit and Registered Nursing Care Contribution.
- Ensuring your wishes are respected and using Enduring Power of Attorney to protect independence and integrity.
- Accessing the help of specialist support groups and community organisations.
What are the key features of the Advocacy Service?
- It is designed to ensure that care residents and their families have access to all the independent help and information they will need in dealing with a long term care need.
- It complies with Standard 14.3 of the National Minimum Standards (Autonomy and Choice) .
